Love of House began with a simple belief: electronic music is at its best when the distance between artist and audience disappears. A record becomes a conversation. A room full of strangers becomes a community. Someone who arrived alone leaves with collaborators, teachers, and friends.
Love of House is a multi-genre electronic music community. Our name is a home, not a boundary. House, bass, techno, garage, drum and bass, trap, experimental music, and sounds without a settled label all belong in the conversation.
This publication is a place to document that feeling and everything required to make it possible. We are here for the artists building new sounds, the dancers giving those sounds meaning, the promoters and crews shaping safer rooms, and the local scenes doing vital work beyond the reach of an algorithm.
Stories with the speakers turned on
Expect artist profiles, thoughtful interviews, record and mix discoveries, essays about dance-floor culture, event reporting, and practical knowledge shared by people who actually make things. We want to know how a track was built, why a night mattered, what a scene needs, and what becomes possible when people exchange more than a follow.
House music has always carried history, place, identity, and resistance inside the rhythm. Good coverage should treat it that way. We will celebrate releases and parties without reducing culture to promotion. We will be curious, specific, generous, and honest.
Local scenes, connected
Love of House grows from a community spanning the United States and Canada, but our attention is not limited by a border or a single city. Electronic culture moves through small rooms, after-hours conversations, community radio, Discord channels, record stores, warehouses, bedrooms, and borrowed studios. The most interesting stories are often already happening long before a larger platform notices them.
Our job is to listen early. We want contributors who know their scenes from the inside and artists who are willing to talk about process, uncertainty, failure, and discovery, not only the polished biography that arrives with a press release.
Participation over spectatorship
This is public media built alongside a living community. The weekly Love of House Beat Battle, peer feedback, live events, production conversations, and shared resources all feed the stories published here. The publication gives that activity a public record; the community keeps the record human.
You do not need a perfect résumé, a large audience, or permission from an institution to belong in the conversation. Bring your work. Bring your questions. Bring respect for the people around you and a willingness to help make the space better than you found it.
